If you would like for us to include a photo of your child with Batten disease in this feature "Faces of Batten," please send us an email with your request and a digital photo of your child or put your request in writing and mail the photo to us. We will make every attempt to include your child's picture on our website, however, we cannot guarantee that your child's picture will be used, nor can we guarantee how long your child's picture will remain on our website. We will attempt to return any photos sent through the mail. If at any time after requesting that your child's photo be placed on our website, you decide that you no longer wish to have your child's photo available on the website, please let us know in writing that you no longer want us to use your child's picture and we will remove it within a reasonable time after notice.

Please be aware that any photo that you send us must be one that you have taken yourself in order to avoid possible violation of copyright laws. In other words, if you send us a picture that was taken professionally and/or belongs to someone else, you could subject yourself and the association to prosecution for violations of copyright laws. By submitting a photo, you are (1) granting Batten Disease Support and Research Association a license to display the photo on its website, (2) representing that you have the necessary rights in the photo to grant such a license, and (3) agreeing to indemnify Batten Disease Support and Research Association against any third party claims relating to the Association's use of the submitted photo on its website.

In addition, please be aware that once you request and we place your child's picture on our website, it is part of the internet and we no longer have control over the picture, except to remove it from the website. Therefore, your child's photo could be copied from our website and used for some other purpose. We cannot assume any responsibility, either direct or indirect, for unauthorized reproduction of these photos or for any damages to you or your child from any such unauthorized reproduction.
