These are our children.
The
real soldiers in the fight against Batten Disease.
Some have reached the end of their personal battle, others fight daily with the hardships and heartbreaks that the Beast of Batten brings to their lives and to those who care for them. They epitomize courage to many, unconditional love to those close to them, unfulfilled hopes and dreams, and sometimes discomfort to the unknowing - these innocents of the battle. Beautiful flowers that wilt too soon. None should be forgotten ... until and after the Battle with Batten Disease is won and our future children can reach their full potential that is God given.
In many ways we can honor them. These are some attempts to do so, through the BDSRA Memorial, the Ontario Memorial and the links below to the names and faces of those we love and remember.
